Downside School has had eight pieces of pupil artwork selected for the Young Open 2019 Competition.

The Young Open, held at the Black Swan Art Gallery in Frome, Somerset, is a hugely competitive annual competition for creatives between the ages of eight and 19. It gives young artists the opportunity to experience entering an art competition, and to have their work formally displayed in a gallery. The 2019 judging panel includes graffiti artist Paris (aka Graham Dews), visualisation and concept artist Matt Welstead and fine artist Rhiannon Davis.

Getting so many Downside artworks selected for this year’s competition reflects the excellent creative quality of work being produced by the School’s young artists; the variety and vibrancy of their work is impressive.

The competition runs from 30th March to 27th April.
