Safe and spacious, the campus provides plenty of space for pupils to learn and grow. The beauty and tranquillity of Downside will have a positive effect on your child’s health and wellbeing, giving them the perfect environment to flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually.

The campus encompasses a performing arts centre, all our playing fields and sports facilities, boarding Houses and teaching spaces, obviating the need for any transport between facilities. This means that pupils do not spend hours in buses going to games or wasting valuable teaching time during the School day. It also means that the swimming pool, tennis courts and fitness equipment are available at weekends and pupils can undertake a cross-country run without ever leaving the campus.

Downside School is situated in 500 acres of glorious English countryside in rural Somerset. The School is in Stratton-on-the-Fosse on the A367. The main entrance gates, marked Downside School, are one mile into the village on the right if approaching from the north.
