We were delighted to welcome Fergus Beeley (B80) back to Downside on Wednesday 15th September.
Fergus was the guest speaker at the sixth form lecture series. His experience as a world renowned photographer and film maker not only conveyed to the pupils the power of beautiful imagery but he also touched on how rapidly the industry is changing with the advent of digital technology. His top tips and advice will be very useful to those hoping to pursue a career in media.
Fergus has spent the last 25 years making wildlife films with Sir David Attenborough, including famous titles for the BBC such as the ‘Life Of Birds’, ‘Planet Earth – the future’ and ‘The Natural World’. He is now a pioneer in a remarkable social enterprise that promotes and practices ‘Mindfulness in Nature.
Pupils greatly enjoyed his talk and were delighted to host him for dinner afterwards.
