Downside Head, Andrew Hobbs, was thrilled to have the chance to join his whole family to watch his son George (R17) play for Oxford in last weekend’s Varsity match.
George wrote the following account of the match:
“It was a brutal game. From start to finish both teams were doing everything they could to get the edge over the other. I felt like we had them in the first half despite it being 10-10 at the break. I’m still gutted about the result. But, when I think back to the game I’m just very proud that I got the chance to walk in Dad’s footsteps, albeit for the darker shade of blue, and be a part of such a special event. It was made even better being able to do it with 23 of my best mates and having my whole family in the stands. It is undoubtedly a memory I’ll cherish forever”.
