On 21 March 2024, the whole school gathered in the Abbey Church to celebrate The Passing of St Benedict.
St Gregory (the Patron Saint of Downside) was a descendant of St Benedict, a spiritual son who lived by his holy father’s rule. St Benedict is known as the father of western monasticism. Many of us possess a copy of the Rule of St Benedict which carefully sets out how to live peacefully in a Christian community.

It was also a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a busy, purposeful term and the pupils’ singing filled the church with joy.
