Alva, Enzo, Hugh, Harry, Anna, Lucinda, Joshua, Eliza, Lara, Francis, Boris and Alexa completed the 35 mile trek for the Ten Tors Challenge this weekend, in typically damp Dartmoor weather.

The Ten Tors challenge is organised by the army and is attempted by 2,400 teenagers in 400 teams of six. The two Downside teams navigated the 35 mile route over the Northern half of Dartmoor, visiting ten nominated tors / check points in under two days.

The teams needed to be totally self-sufficient, carrying all that they need to complete and navigate their route; cook and feed themselves, and stay out overnight. It is an amazing achievement and despite many blisters and persistent downpours, all twelve pupils completed the challenge with a positive outlook, commitment and enthusiasm.
