This week the School community are focussing on the elderly and care homes as part of the St Teresa Community’s service programme.

Following an email sent to fellow pupils from Lower Sixth Former Katharina Luetzenkirchen, pupils, their families and Downside staff are thinking of ways that they can support these vulnerable groups through service and prayer. Some members of the community have been providing essential grocery delivery services to their elderly neighbours or helping with their gardening, whilst four sisters are making music videos to send to their elderly relatives and to their local care homes.

The Downside St Teresa Community for service comprises members of the Manquehue, school staff and pupils, and is one of four Chaplaincy communities at the School, the others being St John’s, St Luke’s and St Francis’.
