On 29th and 30th January Fifth Formers enjoyed overnight retreats at various retreat centres across the South West.
Smythe House went to St Rita’s in Honiton, Roberts to the Marist Convent, Nympsfield, Barlow to Dulverton Residential Centre, and Isabella and Caverel were together at our local residential centre, Ammerdown.
The theme of the retreat was ‘Prayer’. Students were following the Clifton Diocese’s three-year programme ‘A Future full of Hope’, with this year focussing on the ‘Year of Prayer’, following Luke’s Gospel.
The pupils were able to approach different Gospel readings: The Lord’s Prayer, The Good Samaritan, Martha and Mary, Tax Collector and the Pharisee. Mass was celebrated on each retreat and students followed the divine office.
