On Tuesday 30th April, members from the St Teresa Service Community visited Emmaus Bristol.

Emmaus Bristol is the charity that Downside pupils chose to raise awareness and funds for when slept outside on a cold January Saturday night in Lent term.

During the visit, pupils were able to develop a greater understanding of the work that Emmaus undertakes, and how the £2,000+ that they had raised during the Sleep Out would be spent.

Pupils said that they felt inspired by how the charity brings those out of the poverty of homelessness and addiction into living a life back on their own two feet. This is in the way of accommodation, employment and life skills. The charity also promotes the recycling of household and clothing items.
