November’s concert was a musical triumph!
The St Cecilia’s concert is held annually in honour of St Cecilia who is the Patron Saint of Music and Musicians. The programme was packed full yet is only a snapshot of the breadth and depth of the activity in the music department and featured performances from pupils throughout the school. It included a guitar ensemble; piano, violin, and bass solos; a variety of bands; Powell drum line; brass group; concert band and timpani. The evening finished with a rousing performance of Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance led by the school orchestra.
The concert also marked the debut of our fantastic new Steinway grand piano. The Steinway is the flagship of our wonderful new fleet of pianos which have been gifted to us by a very generous donor, to whom we are incredibly grateful.
