Girls’ sport is going from strength to strength at Downside under the leadership of Emily Edwards, Head of Girls’ Games.
In recent weeks, our newly founded girls’ cricket team have taken part in fixtures against Wells Cathedral School, with a return leg due soon. All First, Second and Third Form girls are now playing cricket in their PE lessons each week.

There are ten girls’ tennis teams performing this term, and the girls are making great progress under the guidance of Tennis Coaching Coordinator, Amanda Stonier. All junior girls now play tennis at least twice each week and recent performances have delivered impressive results:
U14 girls tennis win 9-0 against Monkton Combe
U14 girls tennis win 7-2 against Bruton School for Girls
