SILLY SOCKS DAY
23 Nov 2020
The St Teresa Community is pleased to announce that their Mary’s Meals Silly Socks Day raised a total of £208.05.
Until January 2021, the UK government are doubling every pound raised for Mary’s Meals; this means that the money raised from the Downside Silly Socks event will feed 26 children for a whole year.
Mary’s Meals works to:
- provide a daily meal, in a place of education, for children in the world’s poorest communities.
- provide relief for those suffering, in any part of the world, as a result of humanitarian crises or poverty; to help people escape poverty; and to provide care for orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children.
- raise awareness in the UK and worldwide of poverty issues through education.
Pupils and staff had great fun wearing some outlandish footwear whilst also taking time to think about the importance of the work that Mary’s Meals does. Thank you to everyone who wore their silly socks and donated!
