RUGBY SUCCESS AND A FOND FAREWELL

The last weekend of the Michaelmas term was a very successful one for our rugby programme.

Downside won every fixture against our neighbours King’s Bruton scoring a total of 149 points. The 1st XV finished off a fantastic season playing some brilliant rugby in very poor conditions. The first half was a close game with King’s coming out firing. The game saw multiple periods camped on Downside’s try line but the home team’s defence was too strong. Captain Ioan Jenkins and Fly-half Ethan Morgan had man of the match performances in the second half to win the game comfortably 33-10. This made the 1st XV record 9 wins out of 11 for the season – a fitting send-off to Mr Baxter, Head of Rugby, who has done so much to improve performance on the pitch. Farewell Mr Baxter!
