Prior to the start of the Summer Term, the Downside 1st XI Cricket Squad enjoyed a two-day residential training camp at the School.

The boys who attended worked on a mixture of open-wicket scenarios as well as technical net sessions to prepare themselves for the season ahead. Day one saw the group address their aims for the season, as well as congratulating Louis Hansom on his appointment as captain of the team. After a long first day of training, the team were able to relax with team-building activities in the evening which included egg catching and a 70s disco fancy dress competition!

The second day of the camp began with a morning of yoga and stretching to keep the players match fit, followed by an intense field session. The day finished with an open wicket session, giving all players the chance to bat and bowl in different scenarios, fully preparing them for the different situations they will experience in their matches this season.
