Situated just a short hop from the World Heritage City of Bath, and with nearby main road links to Bristol and Heathrow Airports, Downside School is a collection of beautiful buildings and stunning grounds with the magnificent Downside Abbey at its heart. Situated in 500 acres of glorious English countryside, it’s an inspiring and tranquil place to study, to grow, to make new friends, to try new experiences and has plenty of space for reflection and pause.

Pupils join the School from all over the world – China, Hong Kong, Spain, Nigeria, The Netherlands, Poland, France and Germany – to name but a few. Indeed, we have 34 different nationalist represented at the School, creating richly diverse community.

In the UK, as well as boarders from London, Andover, Truro, Sherborne, Shaftesbury, Exeter or Oxford, we also have pupils from closer to home including Salisbury, Frome, Wells, Bath, Chewton Mendip and Kilmersdon. Some these pupils choose to board with us, whilst others take advantage of the School’s superb day offering, travelling to and from School from the Chew Valley, Frome and Bath in our daily minibuses. Day pupils are fully integrated seamlessly into a world of opportunity mirroring all that a boarder will experience.
