We are delighted to announce the launch of our new events series with The Tablet on Wednesday 25th September 2019.
We warmly invite you to Downside School, in conjunction with The Tablet, for an evening of debate and discussion around the purpose and nature of Catholic education today:

Our panel of distinguished speakers for the evening are:
Father Timothy Radcliffe
Father Timothy is an Old Gregorian, Roman Catholic priest, Dominican friar of the English Province and former Master of the Order of Preachers from 1992 to 2001. He is the only member of the English Province of the Dominicans to have held the office since the Order’s foundation in 1216. He was appointed by Pope Francis as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace in 2015. He is also the author of several award-winning books including What is the Point of Being a Christian?, Why Go to Church? The Drama of the Eucharist and Stations of the Cross.
Peter is a British writer, editor, journalist and presenter, known for his biographies and writings on religion and ethics. His biography of Lord Longford was the basis for the 2006 BAFTA-winning film Longford starring Jim Broadbent in the title role. A former editor of the Catholic Herald newspaper, Stanford is also director of the Longford Trust for prison reform. Peter is a regular contributor to The Tablet.
Rachel Kelly is a British author and mental health advocate. She has worked as a journalist at The Times, and is the author of the books Black Rainbow, Walking on Sunshine, The Happy Kitchen and Singing in the Rain. Rachel is a regular contributor to The Tablet.
The event is free for Current Parents however booking is still required for fire regulations. Current Sixth Formers need not book, as this forms part of their Sixth Form Lecture Series.
