Eight teams of Downside Mothers and Daughters braved the blustery wintry weather on Saturday for the Mothers & Daughters Netball Tournament.

The mothers team played all of the girls teams and, despite losing most of their games, they produced some excellent shooting and expressed how enjoyable it was to be back on court.

Our girls worked well together, playing alongside pupils that they had never played with before. The younger girls experienced playing alongside fellow pupils that they see as role models and felt that the event was an excellent learning opportunity. Needless to say, new friendships were made.

The winning side for the day was Team 3, headed up by Upper Sixth and First Team player Ella Jackson, and event finished with a well-earned warming match tea.
