Fr. Boniface celebrated a wonderful Mass in Honour of Blessed Margaret Pole at Farleigh Hungerford Castle last Saturday. We were surrounded by frescoes on the walls, and old tombs, some highly decorated in torquoise and ochre, so the Mass was quite an experience. It was amazing to think that the font, situated unusually in the middle of the Chapel, is the actual font where Margaret was baptised in 1473. Canon Tony Harding gave the Homily, and vividly painted a picture of this very brave, and devout, woman, suddenly executed without trial. It is unbelievable that these violent events are still going on in our world.
