Leweston School Support
We are deeply saddened by the closure of Leweston School, and our thoughts are with the whole Leweston community: pupils, families, staff and governors. We recognise that this will have created huge uncertainty for many families as they consider the next steps for their children’s education.
As a Catholic boarding and day school in the heart of Somerset, Downside is able to offer support to any families who would like to become part of our warm and welcoming community. Grounded in our Benedictine heritage, Downside School offers exemplary pastoral care, educational stability and a strong sense of community, ensuring that every pupil is supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential.
For any Leweston families looking for an immediate transition, we are offering the following:
-
Immediate integration and pastoral support:
Downside School will not charge any fees for the remainder of the Michaelmas Term and will provide tailored academic and pastoral support to help every pupil adjust to their new school.
-
Admissions:
There will be no registration fee or assessments, enabling any child to start at Downside on Monday 2 November.
-
Fees, bursaries and scholarships:
Downside School will honour any current fee bursaries or scholarships and will continue to honour the Leweston fee structure for the remainder of the pupil’s time at Downside.
Please contact Melanie Woods, Director of External Relations or Lara Waller, Admissions Manager. We will be monitoring our emails constantly over the next few days.
