The start of the Sixth Form is one of the most exciting milestones in your education – and at Downside, it marks the beginning of real independence.

For the first time, you choose what you study. You shape your day. Your voice in the classroom matters more than ever. Lessons become collaborative, inspirational, and tailored to your future.

To support this journey, Sixth Formers benefit from:
– Specialist tutors
– A rich PSHEE programme (from study skills to financial management)
– Leadership opportunities across the School
– A huge range of A Level and BTEC subjects

And now, we’re proud to launch the Sixth Form Horizons Programme – a new Saturday-morning initiative designed to give students even greater ownership of their development.

Horizons offers five branches of enrichment:
– Academic Excellence & Independent Learning
– Creative Expression & Inquiry
– Life Skills
– Whole Self Development
– Service, Leadership & the World of Work

Students can build a bespoke pathway with modules such as EPQ, public speaking, driving lessons, cookery, first aid, athletic development, fine art, finance & budgeting, charity service, interview skills, and more.

Combined with our new state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre, filled with beautiful bespoke furniture by OG Matt Podesta (S86), inspiring study spaces and places to relax, Downside Sixth Form is a community where students grow into confident, capable young adults ready for university, apprenticeships and life beyond school.
