Head’s Visit to Hong Kong

Downside School Head’s Visit to Hong Kong

It was a real privilege to visit Hong Kong during half term and to meet in person the parents of many of our current pupils, some for the first time as travel has obviously been so difficult in recent times.

Hong Kong is an exciting place to visit and I was struck by the generosity and warmth of everyone I met.  I was made to feel extremely welcome.  My thanks to all who were able to come to the magnificent dinner so generously organised by Henry and May Shie, parents of Jamie, one of our recent leavers.  It was a hugely enjoyable event and a chance to for me to thank in person the parents for their support and for entrusting their children to us.  Our relationship with families from Hong Kong is one we value highly.  Our community is enormously enriched by the very positive contribution made by our pupils from Hong Kong, who excel academically and in the wider life of the School through their commitment and hard work.

Claire Low, our Director of Admissions and Marketing, took up the baton from me later in the week and met with a number of prospective pupils when she attended the Britannia Exhibition on the final Saturday of half term.
