We are delighted that girls’ rugby has been added to the sports programme at Downside.
The programme has started with the Sixth and Fifth Forms and will be rolled out across other year groups next year. Last Sunday the Sixth Form girls played some touch rugby and had an introduction to tackling. The girls clearly enjoyed the session and did well to transfer and apply their skills to something new.
Girls’ rugby is about breaking boundaries and learning to take on new challenges. There is an important place for women in the sport, and it is fantastic to see Downside girls play their part in pushing the game forward.
