On Wednesday 10th of April, alumni from English Catholic Schools gathered in Lisbon.
Mark Davies (B82) and Phil Dougall (Ra82) recently organised and hosted a dinner in Portugal for the old boys and girls of English catholic schools. These include Downside, Ampleforth, Worth and Stonyhurst.
The dinner, held at the Grémio Literário in Lisbon, brought together fifteen old boys and girls who either live in or have a connection to Portugal. Downside was well-represented with six Old Gregorians in attendance. In addition to Mark and Phil, OGs included: Charles Lindley (B61), Peter Symington (S62), Jonathan Elms (S66) and Adrian Ratcliffe (R89).
The dinner was judged a great success and plans for next year’s event are already in motion. Please get in touch with oldgregorians@downside.co.uk if you’re interested in attending the gathering next year, or if you’d like to host a similar international event!
