Downside Sixth Form

The last two years of your school life are the most important part of your school career, from the subjects you choose at A level to gaining a place at your first choice university.

“Downside has taught me the true meaning of independence and dedication both in and out of my studies, and given me the confidence to trust my own decisions.” Georgia O’Keeffe, Current Sixth Former

We welcome new pupils into the Sixth Form. It is a vibrant and inclusive community, working collaboratively with teachers, and encouraging independent learning and thought. You will enjoy the independence and new opportunities that come with life at a boarding school in England.

These two years are the springboard to your future life and career and we have experienced professionals available throughout the Sixth Form to help you. They will advise on how to take forward your UCAS application and will help with fast track planning if you have the potential to study at Oxbridge, Russell Group or Ivy League universities.

Downside Sixth Form will give you the chance to take on more responsibility, to show leadership and service. There are key roles in the School such as Head of School, Head of House, Captain of sports teams and CCF appointments as well as a host of extra opportunities in performing arts. You can join a range of societies, debate topical issues and discover, explore and establish your own values and opinions.

A Level Subject Fair

Each Autumn, we host an A Level Subject Fair. It’s an essential opportunity for Year 11 pupils to find out why the Downside Sixth Form is the perfect springboard to university and your future career. The next Subject Fair will be October 2020, but you can visit us on our next Open Morning or arrange a private visit at any time. Drop our Admissions team an email today to express your interest.
