Downside Remembrance Service

Last Sunday, the School held a Mass and Memorial Service in remembrance of all those who have been killed fighting for their country and, in particular, Old Gregorians lost to the same.

After a stirring and thoughtful Mass, the School, Prior Nicholas, parents and OGs held a service at the Old Gregorian War Memorial. As well as the laying of wreaths, the biographies of 25 Old Gregorians who fell in 1918 (and early 1919) were read out while commemorative crosses were placed by pupils at the foot of the Memorial.

The Last Post was played by one of our talented cadets, and the National Anthem was performed by musicians from the CCF Band along with Mr McNamara.
