Saturday 2nd March welcomed the return of the Downside Association Curry and Quiz Night. Hosted in the Weld Cafe, with a fantastic quiz created and delivered by Andrew Walsh-Waring (B82).
It was a very successful evening, with a varied mix of people including current and past parents, OGs and the local community. It was also wonderful to see so many new faces this year! Andy Healy, Chair of the Downside Association, described the event as ‘a great example of bringing the Wider Community of Downside together’.
A ‘slight’ hint of competitive spirit was bubbling under the surface as rivalries re-emerged. Andrew Walsh-Waring, brilliantly reprising his role as Quiz Master, laid out the ground rules (with penalties including expulsion and excommunication!).
The food was delicious. Starters bursting with flavour (the poppadoms were a hit), plus a gorgeous selection of curries. Despite fierce competition, the win was taken convincingly by the ‘Penultimates’ team! Huge congratulations to them.
We look forward to hosting this event again next year and to many more opportunities to bring the whole Downside Community together.
