Digital leaders at Downside School

On Wednesday 29th June 2022 the digital leaders went to visit Kilmersdon Primary School.

In the first session, Mr Ramsden taught the year five class about what to believe and what not to believe online. He taught the students about fake websites and how to decide if a website is real or fake. The students spent the session looking through a list of websites to decide if they were real or fake.

For the second lesson the digital leaders gave a presentation on discrimination and privacy on the internet. Then, we did a couple of activities with the students. We gave them a few scenarios in which they may find themselves in and asked what they would do in each situation. This activity gave the students time to discuss what they would do when presented in these situations. We then concluded with a Kahoot quiz we had made, giving the winning team a Downside T-shirts as a prize.

All the children were very engaged throughout the whole morning and it was an excellent trip for all the digital leaders to gain experience in teaching the children at Kilmersdon.
