Downside Performing Arts Department is delighted to invite you to a performance of ‘Dido & Aeneas’ by Henry Purcell. First performed in 1689, this beautiful Baroque opera tells the tragic story of Dido, the widowed Queen of Carthage, who has fallen in love with the Trojan Prince Aeneas… and the conflict of love and duty that ensues.
Performance lasts approx. 1 hour with no interval.There will be a cash bar for drinks after the performance on Thursday evening.
