David Bevan (R68) has recently been awarded the Papal Medal for services to the Church.

The Papal Medal, also known as the Benemerenti Medal, is an honour awarded by the Pope to members of the clergy and laity for service to the Catholic Church. Originally established as an award for soldiers in the Papal Army, the concept of awarding this medal for its current meaning became acceptable in 1925.

David was nominated by Our Most Holy Redeemer in Chelsea for his 35-year long career running the Choir. This also included acknowledgement of his compositions of Church Music which have been played throughout Churches, not just only in the UK but around the world.

We hope you will join us in congratulating David.
