CCF Parade 2018

Downside pupils enjoy taking part in the CCF Inspection Day, and this year we were pleased to welcome Commodore Nick Tindal RNAS Yeovilton as Inspecting Officer.

Pupils were excited to welcome Commodore Tindal, as he arrived at Downside in a Wild Cat helicopter! Following a BBQ lunch with cadets and staff at the cricket pavilion he observed a range of activities throughout the afternoon, including paint-balling, command tasks, first aid, weapon handling, archery and more. The Upper Sixth Form NCOs were pleased to share cream team with the Commodore before the Quarter Guard Parade, which took place in the main quad just before 6pm.

The pupils enjoyed a formal evening dinner, which included special guests Col Botsford MBE, previous Commanding Officer of the Corps-Lt Col Hugh Pountney and former SSI WOI Roger Nicholas MBE.

Special congratulations to Freddie Mills and Michael Collier who, in their senior roles, have led pupils throughout this academic year.
