CCF Field Day

Posted on: 10/10/2025

On Wednesday 8th October, our Cadets in the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Forms spent the day on the School grounds developing their Field Craft skills. Activities included fire lighting, cooking 24-hour ration packs, erecting a harbour area, and mastering the art of personal camouflage. In the afternoon, they put their training into action with patrolling exercises, preparing for next term’s Night Exercise at Yoxter Training Area.

Our Third Form Cadets also had a fantastic day, learning a range of new skills — from shelter building and using camouflage cream to cooking army rations and understanding how to move and hide effectively in the field. They thoroughly enjoyed the teamwork and challenge throughout the day. A special mention goes to our Sixth Form NCOs, who delivered excellent lessons and demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the activities.

Meanwhile, the Royal Navy section, enjoyed an exciting trip to the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton in the morning, followed by an adventurous caving session in the afternoon.

It was an action-packed and thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved!
