The Second Form are currently undertaking projects about Catholic Life. This involves independent research as well as conducting interviews with members of staff who have specialist knowledge.
Each pupil is producing an essay of approximately 1,000 words on their chosen topic and presenting their research conclusions to the class in a few weeks. They are aiming for a maximum of 30 marks; 20 awarded for the essay and 10 for the presentation. However, this project is less about marks and grades and more about learning how to research, how to use academic referencing and – most importantly – how to develop a genuine interest in a new topic.
