Benedictine Schools Alumni: Growing and Sharing Their Faith

Posted on: 30/09/2024
Downside School is an 11–18 Co-Educational, Catholic, independent, day and boarding school.

In May, we reflected on the opportunity to organise new initiatives that would allow Old Gregorians (OGs) to grow and share in their faith. As we developed these ideas, we decided to extend the initiatives to alumni of other English Benedictine Congregation (EBC) schools who share our ethos and values. To this end, we have connected with Ampleforth and Worth Schools, and have built a working group that will collaborate to offer more faith-based activities, building on the influence of the Benedictine Manquehue Apostolic Movement.

Our first initiative will launch on November 10th. We are hosting a gathering with members of the Manquehue Community in London (location to be confirmed), which will provide an opportunity for alumni from all schools who have developed a close connection with the Manquehue Apostolic Movement, either through their time at school or during gap years in Chile, to meet, reconnect, and share time together.

More details on this event will be provided in the coming weeks, including the venue. In the meantime, if you would like to participate, please RSVP by clicking here.

If you are interested in getting involved with broader initiatives, either through volunteering or by providing ideas, please reach out to Elena McFarlane (I13) at elena.mcfarlane@gmail.com
