Basketball

Basketball is a popular sport at Downside and has seen significant growth in recent years. As an extra-curricular activity, basketball is available throughout the academic year, with training on Friday & Sunday evenings. External coaching support is also available in the form of visiting specialists from Trowbridge Hawks Basketball Club, ensuring that all players develop their skills and game understanding. The Ortuzar Sports Hall has a full-sized indoor court and offers pupils an excellent facility for training and competition. Competitive inter-school fixtures are organised in the Lent Term against opposition including Clifton College, Wycliffe College, Marlborough College, Prior Park and Wells Cathedral School.
