Congratulations to Sixth-Former Phaedra for her fascinating presentation at this year’s ARTiculation Prize Regional Final, organised by the Roche Court Educational Trust.
The Trust’s ARTiculation initiative is designed to inspire students’ interest and understanding of art while developing individual thinking, observation, research, language and presentation skills.
Phaedra presented a talk on Chiharu Shiota’s performance art piece Becoming Painting (1994). She gave a fluent and passionate delivery which was a real credit to Downside. She faced stiff competition and she should feel very proud of her efforts both in preparation for the heat at School and the regional final.
Downside School will be taking part again in next year, the heats for which start in the autumn. Will be start encouraging students to get involved from Summer Term this year.
