Downside Association

the Association
The Downside Association seeks to develop a broad and inclusive community, bringing together all associated with the School through several events hosted throughout the year, offering opportunities to socialise and deepen relationships for all.
The Association is cared for by a small Committee alongside the Development Office who co-ordinate the activities and events on offer. From a New Parents’ Brunch to Super Saturday events, which brings together the whole community in a celebration of sport whilst enjoying a BBQ at the Pavilion or a drinks reception prior to musical and theatrical productions. Innovative ideas and suggestions are always welcome, so please do get in contact.
EventsSupporting the Association
Alongside the social aspect, the Association also aims to contribute to the School’s Bursary and Scholarship Fund, which enables bright and talented pupils to attend Downside, irrespective of their financial means. Each year any surplus funds generated by the Association are donated to the Bursary Fund.
Whilst fundraising is not the main objective of the Association, it endorses the 1814 Society, launched in 2022, which offers an accessible means to give the gift of education through the Bursary Fund.
Thank you to all who have supported the Association in previous years by raising funds to assist in annual projects such as video coaching equipment and a CCF trailer.

staying in contact
As pupils leave the School and become Old Gregorians, parents automatically remain a member of the Downside Association and we hope they will choose to stay in contact and benefit from the Wider Community. Keeping your details up to date ensures you receive the relevant communications, such as event news and The Raven.
Having sent our three children to Downside, I've witnessed first-hand over the years the unique strength of this broad community and its ability to enrich lives. It's been a joy having the opportunity through the Association to keep building those connections and supporting the School in all its endeavours.Andy Healy, Chair
