The first full weekend of the Downside year is always great fun; the pupils are encouraged to take part in a range of activities and make new friends!
A number of pupils travelled to the Cheddar Reservoir to take part in sailing, and there was rugby, football, cross-country and hockey on Saturday. Friendly fixtures took place against Queen’s College, Taunton, and an evening of house events on Saturday night. The girls of Isabella House had an animal themed party, and prefects organised games.
The Schola Cantorum met on Sunday morning for a rehearsal before Mass, and later that day pupils were able to enjoy the Stratton on the Fosse village day, five-a-side football and even archery! The boys of Powell House had also had a blast when they went paintballing with Mr Dolman!
Phew. We’re looking forward to the quiet of the classroom, until next weekend…
