On Saturday 26th March, the St Teresa Community took part in its annual overnight sleepout for HelpForHomeless, a charity that distributes essentials including bedding, tents, clothing, sanitary items and food across Somerset to those in need.

This year the sleepout was based in the Abbey Church Visitor Centre courtyard. It was a great night for reflection, perspective and fundraising, and luckily, unlike last year, the weather was very pleasant. The community was fed supper by the HelpForHomeless team and thanks was given for all that the charity does each week. The theme for Lectio was homelessness, and a podcast was recorded for the St Teresa Community podcast on Spotify which will be uploaded in due course.

From HelpForHomeless: ‘We provide vital support to the homeless on the streets, currently working in Bristol, Bath and Yeovil. We couldn’t operate without the support and help from all those who donate their time, unwanted items or money. We are truly grateful for all those donations which allow our work to continue.’
