Lectio Retreat at Downside
Last weekend, a number of past pupils from Downside, Ampleforth, and Worth congregated at Downside for a Lectio Divina retreat, and they were delighted to be joined by the leader of the Manquehue Apostolic Movement, José Manuel Eguiguren Guzmán.
Around 50 people from England, Scotland and France gathered for the event, with alumni from the three schools bringing members of the new Lectio groups that they have founded whilst at university.
Consuelo Verdugo said of the event, “It was a weekend of joy and friendship, and opportunity to share our faith. It was a big encouragement for all of us to see that we are not alone and there are many out there living and sharing their faith and spreading the Word, through their lectio groups.”
José Manuel Eguiguren, Manquehue founder, joined the group for the weekend and visitors were touched to receive words of encouragement from him. The group were delighted to be accompanied by the Monastic Community and also had the privilege to join them in the Liturgy of the Hours.
