From Boarding School to University
15 Sep 2016
Sixth Formers from Downside are always well-prepared for university life; during the final years of school they’ve refined skills in independent learning, as well as learning how to live within a house together in our boarding facilities.
Each September we think of our summer leavers, as they embark upon university life. This year our Sixth Form gained places at Oxford, Ivy League and Russell Group universities to study a range of subjects from Medicine and Biomedical Science, to History of Art in New York and Vocal Studies at the Royal Academy of Music! This year we were also delighted to see pupils gain places with Goldman Sachs in the city, and win a scholarship to the prestigious law school at King’s College, London. You can read more about our ‘Global Stars’ in the Downside Diary.
The 2016 cohort gained 46.2% A*/A grades at A Level, and 28% of all pupils achieved at least 3 A*/A grades. Click here to read more.
