Downside is not simply an educational experience, we want you as a family to feel welcome too and the Downside Association is the body whose role is to provide ongoing activities and friendships that connect us now and in the future.
The Association promotes friendship opportunities to socialise at events hosted throughout the academic year. For example: a new parent brunch takes place in September to welcome new members; lectures, concerts, and plays are open to all, including the Carol Service and the Quiz & Curry Night in November, which has become a firm fixture on the events calendar. Keep up to date with all Downside Association events here.
Supporting the Downside Association
To fund our activities we ask all parents of children at the School to donate £10 per term to the Downside Association. After School, we hope you will choose to continue as members of the Association so you can remain in contact and benefit from the wider Downside community. Every year we donate any surplus funds into the Bursary Fund, to support those who need financial assistance to enjoy an education here and where possible. The Association also supports the Annual Fund by fundraising for smaller projects on an ad hoc basis.
A small Committee co-ordinates the activities each year and welcome suggestions and new members.
Chair: Khashi Sharifi
Committee Members: Francis Hobbs, Jo Hobbs, Maria Matthews, Andy Healy, Debbie Crowe, Susannah Bosanquet, Sophie O’Keeffe, Daniella Harwood and Jeremy Westlake.

As pupils leave and become Old Gregorians, parents are encouraged to remain active within the Downside Association. Should you wish to continue supporting the Downside Association activities, please click here.
