Downside Abbey Pilgrimage to the Holy Land 21-30 July 2017
led by Fr. Anselm Brumwell, a Monk of Downside Abbey
We will be visiting the most important Holy Christian places in Israel and the West Bank, together with some impressive archaeological sites. We will also spend a night out in the Negev Desert among the Bedouin, and experience the joy of camel riding! There will be lots of opportunities for exploring places on foot, swimming in the Jordan River, Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee, together with kayaking in the beautiful Banias Nature Reserve. Full details are to be found in the Itinerary.
Fr Leo said of the recent pilgrimage, “Everyone on the pilgrimage felt that it was an experience that would change them in some important way, although how will take time to discern. We were taken into the world of the Gospels and to Jesus; the events of two thousand years ago seem close in the Holy Land.”
This pilgrimage has been specifically designed for young adults between 18 and 30 years of age.
Price will be dependent on numbers, and the cost of flights, but will be about £900. Downside has been able to secure this pilgrimage at a considerable discount on normal commercial rates.
