Science Week at Downside

We always look forward to Science Week at Downside, and this year the pupils have been getting involved in a series of events organised by the team.

During the course of this week, we have completed a CSI ‘whodunit’, during which the First Form stole Mr Rigby’s Brain!  The Second Form have enjoyed ‘apprentice pyrotechnics’, learning about the chemistry of fireworks, and this morning the Third Form enjoyed a fun morning in the Theatre with ‘Disgusting Digestion’ and ‘Fantastic Fizzix’, which involved a lot of laughter!

For older pupils, there was a lecture on molecular origami, and a rockets workshop.  In addition, the Interhouse Science Competition takes place this week, as well as the Wallingford Lecture Competition and the Wildlife Photography Competition….there is something for everyone!
