Downside Parents’ Association aims to foster and encourage the community spirit among parents in line with our Benedictine values.

Downside Parents’ Association

The Association promotes friendship and good communication among the parents and welcomes new parents to Downside. It also provides opportunities for parents to socialise together at events hosted throughout the academic year. The Association also supports the Annual Fund by fundraising for smaller projects on an ad hoc basis.

All current parents are de facto members of the Parent Association and pay £10 per term on the fee bill to fund the activities. A range of social events are arranged by the Committee and opportunities will be provided to meet staff and monks on an informal basis.

As pupils leave and become Old Gregorians all parents are encouraged to join the Friends of Downside to keep in touch with the Abbey and School through regular bulletins and to join us at various events including the Carol Service at Christmas.

Parent Ambassadors

Parent Ambassadors are current parents chosen by the House Master or House Mistress to act as a point of contact for other parents in the same House for any given year group. They are often a useful point of contact when you are new to the school with lots of questions. You can meet them at house events or get their contact details from your child’s House Master or Mistress and they are always happy to have a chat.
