The Chamber Choirs are smaller than the Schola Cantorum, typically numbering sixteen singers, boys or girls. There are four chamber choirs at Downside: a boys’ choir, a girls’ choir, a mixed choir, and a junior choir. They specialise in a cappella performances, sacred and secular, and rehearse weekly. Membership is by invitation only. The Chamber Choirs sing Mass on some Sundays and are much in demand for concerts. The mixed chamber choir tours regularly; most recently, in summer 2011, the choir performed a series of concerts and Masses in Munich and Bavaria.
