David said that it was important for Catholics and our
fellow Christians to do together as much as possible, and
to celebrate together the witness we all make in our worship
to Christ. Christian Unity Week was a time for the sharing
of gifts, and especially for prayer that we fulfil Christ’s
will that his Church be one.
There have always been close
links between Downside and Wells. In 1823, the Cathedral
Choir sang at the opening of the new chapel, now in the
School. Besides close personal links between members of
the Community and the clergy of the Cathedral over the
years, the choirs of the two schools have sung together
in the past at Carol Services as well in a concert for
the Bath Festival.
We very much hope that this
new link will be a regular part of our joint prayer for
Christian Unity. |
